Our Story

KK Media was founded by journalist and commentator Keyaira Kelly in July 2020 to create media that goes beyond entertainment and news.

Our programs turn intergenerational storytelling into spaces for growth, connection, and healing. At the heart of our work is researched real talk: content that is rigorous, intentional, and deeply human.

Media entrepreneur Keyaira Kelly is an award winning journalist and founder of KK Media, a woman-led health and wellness platform that curates conversations between generations. Her body of work editorially lives and breathes at the intersection of pop culture and wellness. She served as Health Editor at Business Insider, where she reported and managed reporters on the relationships and lifestyle beats while hosting health panels, like one on benefits of psychedelic medicine at NeueHouse in New York or online in forums with fellow journalists on how to conduct health reporting during the pandemic. Kelly also co-hosted and co-produced a podcast for the World Economic Forum, called “House On Fire,” and appeared on “The Breakfast Club” for her pioneering work, #blackpressmatters, which shone light on how Black journalists were being treated on red carpets. In 2026, Keyaira booked a speaking engagement for Atlanta’s “Black Writers Weekend” where she moderated a panel on how writers can leverage crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter to raise money for their creative projects. Previously, Kelly has spoken alongside Pulitzer-Prize winning Nikole Hannah-Jones at the National Association of Black Journalists conference on how to use original source records to uncover family history in news reporting.

In 2019, KK Media launched its flagship intergenerational podcast and workshop series, “Talk To Your Mom,” which curates health, wellness, and finance conversations between generations of women. Kelly also contributes to the beauty, health, and culture verticals of ELLE.com and Refinery29. Throughout her career, Kelly has sat down with A-list talent, with an interviewing reel that includes the likes of Tyler Perry, Oprah Winfrey, Samuel L. Jackson, Donald Glover, and Viola Davis.
